The question sounds tougher than it really is. Here’s what they’re asking you:

- What is important to you (values)?
- How do you make choices and decisions (ethics)?
- Where did you learn these values and ethical rules?
- Do you ever change your values/ethics? Why and how?
- How will they apply to your job?

Take me, for example. I grew up in a house filled with books, so I learned that reading, language, and literature are very important. This led me to study languages in college and to become a translator. In my job, I make sure that I translate texts using the best language skills I have.

Think about it like this, what would really tick you off if you didn’t have it?
These are your personal values.
List them out, then tell what circumstances you have been through that make you feel they are the most important. That will describe how they were shaped or formed. Good luck!
